FAQs
Can I distribute your software?
Yes, as long as your let me know that you're going to do it and also that you don't charge for it and that you don't alter any of the files that you distribute.
Can I mirror your software?
No, I'd rather that you didn't! Please feel free to link to this website, please link to the index pages for specific applications and not directly to the installation files.
Why hasn't <application> been updated recently?
I spend my time updating and improving the applications that I get the most feedback about, as I assume they are the ones that the most people are using. The problem is that I really have no idea how much use my applications get, so I guess based on emails received and website downloads.
What software do I use?
For PC development I use Borland Delphi and Visual Studio 2008, the Pocket PC stuff is all writen with Visual Studio. On the Amiga I use Devpac 3. I also use Paint Shop Pro as my image editor as well as Notepad++ for text file editing. The installers for my application are all created using the Nullsoft Scriptable Install System.

For playing MP3s and videos I use Winamp, for Commodre 64 SIDs I use SIDPlay2 and for Amiga MODs I use Deliplayer.

How many tunes?
I have 32000+ (180MB) C64 tunes, the complete High Voltage SID collection. I have 35725 Amiga MODS (12.7GB) although there will be a few duplicates.
Is the source code available for <application>?
At the moment the answer is "no". With exception to the "open source" stuff I already have online, I won't be making the source code available. It's taken me a lot of work to get the software working and it wouldn't really be in my interest to release the source code. There may come a time when I release some of the source code. Watch this space!
Is there or will there be a Mac, Linux, etc. version ?
At the moment my applications are only available for Windows. I am looking to develop a Linux version, it all depends on how much demand there is. There's a lot of work involved and I don't want to put all that effort in and find out that no-one uses it! Developing a native Mac version is more difficult as I don't own a Mac! (feel free to donate one) There is a Google Desktop version of the Periodic Table which although is a cut-down version of the Windows version does contain all of the same information and will work with the Windows and Mac versions of Google Desktop.
Is <application> available in <language>?
Some of my applications are available in different languages, I don't have the time or the skills to translate the text myself so I'm afraid that I rely on volunteers to do the translations for me. If you have the time and skills and you'd like to help translate a particular application to another language then please email me.
What was your first computer?
Computers I've owned, from earliest to latest; Commodore C16, Commodore C64, Amiga 500, Amiga 1200, Apricot Xen LS2 PC. After that I managed to build a complete HP 486 DX2 66MHz system for about £150 which meant I could play two player Duke3D and Rise of the Triad (over 10-base T ethernet!). After that came years of upgrading and building my main PC from scratch, and recycling the old bits to make servers. I bought my first Dell 530 in 2002, my second in 2005 and my 690 at the end of 2006. At the beginning of 2007 I bought some Amigas from eBay! I've no plans to buy any more PCs for a while.....
